Diane von Furstenberg could not have predicted that the wrap dress that she designed over 40 years ago would still be going strong. Though this iconic frock has gotten a facelift over the years, it has only become better with age. This curve-complimenting, neck-lengthening, waist-trimming garment has accomplished more for women than any other piece of clothing.
Wrap dresses are big again this spring for good reason. This look is flattering for every woman regardless of size, body shape or age. The fabric and cuts of the wrap dress are numerous making this dress as perfect for a night out as it is for a day at the park.
In this post we will look at a few of my favorite wrap dresses and how to style them. Keeping with the Budget Friendly Luxury value, all items are incredibly stylish but all under $100.
Don’t be afraid to get “under wrap” this spring! You’ll thank me later!
Day at the Park
I love this comfortable yet stylish take on the wrap dress. The cool cotton and sleeveless style makes it a perfect casual Saturday outfit.
I was just introduced to this bronzer from Trish McEvoy. It is amazing. I even find myself rubbing the darker color on my lids for a quick bit of color in the morning.
I have to say that my favorite under $100 find for this outfit would have to be the shoes. I love these metallic slide-on sneakers from Halogen. At only $89, they are a cute and comfortable addition for Spring.
The Night Out
The wrap dress is wonderful at transitioning from day to night. I love this navy wrap dress. It is practical enough to wear to work but classy enough to wear to a nice dinner. I learned to dress my navy with nude accent from Princess Kate who is one of my favorite style icons. Add a pop of red polish and you will stand out for all of the right reasons.
My favorite under $100 find here is the bracelet. It is reminiscent of the much more expensive Tiffany T bracelet. At only $10, this bracelet is a beautiful addition to this outfit!
I love the flirty, maxi version here of the wrap dress. The colors and style make a very mod choice. Pair it with the crochet circle bag and tortoise accents and it is the perfect casual outfit.
I have to admit, I am slightly in love with this gold pendant necklace. At $70 it is a little higher on the price spectrum but it is such a versatile piece, I know that I would wear it over and over again.
What do you think? Are you as enamoured with the wrap dress as I am? Check out more of this iconic style on the DVF website. While the price point is a bit high, after looking at DVF’s style, you will understand her longevity. Her dresses are beautiful!
